Heart Bracelet

Here’s a fun craft to help your preschooler remember that a friend loves at all times.

You will need yarn, construction paper, a straw, scissors and a hole punch

Cut yarn to fit your child's wrist.
Make sure you leave enough room to tie it when you are finished!

Cut straw into 1/2 inch pieces.
Cutting straws is great practice for your preschooler’s scissor skills!

Fold your construction paper in half.

Draw half hearts on folded edge of paper.
(If you stack three sheets together, you should only have to draw two half hearts.)

Cut hearts. Older preschoolers can do this themselves.
Younger ones might need a little bit of help.

Punch hole in center of each heart.
You can write friends’ names on the hearts at this point if you desire. Remember to make one heart say, “Jesus,” because He is our good friend.

String straws and hearts onto yarn, making sure to start and end with straw.
Sometimes it helps if you can tape the end of the yarn.

Lacing yarn is GREAT practice for your preschoolers hand-eye coordination. Make sure to have lots of patience as it may take a few tries.

Tie around wrist.
