Soldier Lines

Gather painter’s tape and any type of people figures.

Make a long line with the tape on the floor, then a second shorter line.

Place the figures on short line.

Then place the figures on the long line and compare the two groups of “soldiers.”

Gideon gathered the biggest group of soldiers he could to defeat the Midianites. But, God thought there were too many soldiers and told Gideon to make a smaller group. Gideon trusted God’s way is perfect, and the small group of soldiers WON! Yay, God!

Popsicle Stick Crowns

Gather colorful popsicle sticks and jewel stickers.

Make crowns on a table with the popsicle sticks.

Add jewel stickers.

King Josiah loved God. He became a king when he was just a kid, and he told everyone that God’s way is perfect!

Naaman Snack

Gather cookie dough, icing, red M&Ms, and a gingerbread cookie cutter.

Roll out the cookie dough and use the cookie cutter to create gingerbread cutouts.

Bake the cookies.

Once the cookies have cooled, ice them.

Finally, add red M&Ms as spots.

Naaman had a lot of red spots on his skin and the spots hurt. Naaman was told by God’s friend to take seven baths in a river to get better. He knew seven baths would be hard, but he did it and got better. God’s way is perfect!

Big Fish Plate

Gather a paper plate, construction paper, scissors, tape or glue, a marker, and a blue dot marker.

Dot marker the plate blue.

Cut a triangle out of the plate for the fish’s mouth.

Tape or glue the triangle cutout to the opposite side of the plate as the fish’s tail.

Draw Jonah from the construction paper and then cut out.

Add the fish’s eye, and tape or glue Jonah onto the belly of the fish.

Jonah was swallowed by a big fish. Jonah trusted God, because God’s way is perfect. God made the big fish spit Jonah out!

Garden Bin

Gather a bin, dried beans, scoops, mini flower pots, and faux flowers.

Pour the beans into the bin.

Place the pots in the bin.

Let the children plant the flowers in the “garden” using the scoops.

In the beginning, God created the most perfect garden with flowers and trees. The garden was perfect, and God’s way is perfect!

Match the Names

Gather butcher paper, a marker, painter’s tape, and post-it notes.

Tape the paper to the wall.

Talk about who you can tell about Jesus and write their names on the butcher paper.

Write the same names on the post-it notes.

Have your child match the names by putting the post-it notes on the butcher paper.

We can tell others that Jesus loves us and wants to be our friend forever!

Kite Cookies

Gather cookie dough, a plate, a knife, licorice (pull and peel), and icing.

Bake the cookies and then cut them into triangle shapes.

Outline the kite with icing.

Next, draw a cross in the middle.

Peel the licorice and place at the bottom for the kite’s tail. When you’re done, share the cookies with a friend to show that you love them!

Jesus is such a good friend. We can be a good friend too by sharing and loving!

Fish for Breakfast

Gather a piece of construction paper, a marker, scissors, Cheerios®, and double-sided tape.

Draw a fish on the paper.

Cut out the fish and then place vertical strips of tape on the back half of the fish.

Place Cheerios on the tape to give the fish scales.

Jesus cooked and ate breakfast on the beach with His friends. He loved them so much and He loves you too!
