L.O.V.E. Spells LOVE

Gather some type of alphabet cookie or cracker, like these, and a bowl.

Place the cookies in a bowl.

Look for the letters L, O, V, and E to spell love. Then do it again!

Jesus loves everyone and we can love others too. We can love like Jesus!

Heart Brownies

Gather brownie mix, a heart-shaped cookie cutter, icing, and sprinkles.

Bake the brownies and then use the cookie cutter to create heart shapes.

Decorate the hearts with icing and sprinkles, then deliver some to a friend!

There was a woman who was sad because she didn’t have any friends. But when she was brought to Jesus, He loved her and wanted to be her friend! Jesus wants to be everyone’s friend.

Block Painting

Gather a white piece of construction paper, a brown marker or crayon, washable paint (the colors of leaves), a plate, and a Duplo block (or other type of large block).

Place some paint on the plate.

Using the crayon/marker, draw a tree trunk and branches on the paper.

Have your child dip the block into the paint and then press onto the branches.

Continue until the tree is full of leaves!

Zacchaeus climbed up in a tree so he could see Jesus. Jesus saw him and asked him to come down from the tree. Even though Zacchaeus had taken money from people, Jesus forgave him and still loved him!

Fill the Cups

Gather a large bin with water, sponges, and plastic cups.

Have your child use the sponge to squeeze water into the cups.

Continue until the cups are full of water!

Jesus was thirsty and needed a jar for water. There was a woman at the well who could help him but she wasn’t from His town. That didn’t matter to Jesus though, because Jesus loves everyone!

Walking on Water Snack

Gather blue Jello, a clear plastic cup, and a Teddy Graham.

Follow the directions to make the Jello and fill the cup.  This is your water.

Once the Jello is chilled, add a Teddy Graham to the top of the Jello
to represent Jesus walking on water.

Jesus did something no one else can do. He walked on water!
Jesus really CAN do anything!

Fish and Bread Play

Gather a bowl of croutons, a bowl of Goldfish, tongs, and cupcake liners.

Set out the cupcake liners.

Using the tongs, have your child fill the cupcake liners with fish and bread.

Continue until every cupcake liner has food. There is even food left over!

Jesus fed over 5,000 people with two fish and five loaves of bread. And there was still food left over! That’s something only Jesus could do!

Fish Puppet

Gather a piece of construction paper, a craft stick, a googly eye, dot markers,
scissors, a pen, and glue.

Trace your child’s hand on the construction paper and cut it out.

Glue the googly eye onto the palm side of the handprint.

Use the dot markers to add “scales” to the fish.

Glue the fish onto the craft stick to make a puppet.

Optional: cut a heart out of red construction paper to make lips for the fish.

Peter went fishing and didn’t catch ANY fish. But then Jesus told him to throw his nets in the water and when he did, it started filling with fish! It filled with SO many fish! Peter knew Jesus could do anything!

Super Fancy Party Drink Art

Gather two small cups of water, two droppers, a napkin, and
red and blue food coloring.

Put some red food coloring in one cup and blue food coloring in the other.

Using the dropper, add red and blue drops to the napkin to create art.

Jesus changed water into super fancy party drink!
That’s amazing! Jesus can do ANYTHING!

Wise Men Handprints

Gather a piece of construction paper and washable paint.

Put paint on your child’s hand and make three upside-down handprints to represent the camels.

Have your child finger paint a star in the sky.

They can then finger paint bodies and heads on each camel to represent Wise Men.

The wise men followed a star that led them to Jesus! They were so glad God gave us Jesus!
