Calming the Sea Snacks

What you will need: apples, bananas, toothpicks, and fruit leather.

Cut the fruit into boat shapes.

Stick in the toothpick and fruit leather to make a sail.

Now you have your own boats, just like the ones that rode into the storm. But then Jesus told the storm to stop, and it did!

Walking on Water

What you need: 1 cup of water, 1.5 cups of corn starch, a small tray, small toys.

Combine the water and cornstarch. Stir it together, this is difficult.

Pour the mixture into your tray.

When the little people “run” or “hop” across the mixture quickly, they seem to be walking.

Talk about the time that Jesus walked on water!

Fish and Loaves Story Snack

What you need: Cheese, a plate, crackers.

Take your cheese and cut out two circles and two triangles.

Form your two fish.

Add the five crackers and you have your own snack to replicate the lunch in the story!

While you enjoy your snack, let your child tell the story to you! Imagine what
it would be like to share your lunch with a crowd.

Catching Fish!

Gather your supplies:
Painters tape and aluminum foil.

Criss-cross painters tape on a doorframe to create a net formation.

Let your child shape the foil into a fish shape
(or just a wad, if that's easier for him)
Have your preschoolers throw the aluminum foil “fish” into the net.

See how many "fish" your child can catch! Talk about
how many fish Jesus' friends caught in their nets!

scissors, a Sharpie, and a glue stick.

Here Come the Shepherds

What you need: Rubber band, 3 felt colors, scissors,
a sharpie, glue, and a paper towel roll.

Cut out a piece of on of the felts.

Place it like a head-wrap on the paper towel roll and place rubber band around the top

Glue a strip of a different color felt over the rubber band.

Take the other two pieces of felt and cut one slightly shorter then the other.

Wrap the shorter piece around the roll and then put the taller piece on like a jacket.

Draw a face and you’re done.

Wrapping Up Baby Jesus

What you need: Craft Stick, Sharpie, glue stick, and a square piece of paper

Cut your craft stick to get a two-inch piece and draw a face on it.

Put the craft stick in the middle of the piece
of paper and fold up the bottom.

Fold in the sides.

Now you have your own baby Jesus!

Toilet Paper Angels

What you will need- A toilet paper roll, white paint, a sharpie, printer paper, and a pencil

Paint your toilet paper roll white.

Trace your child’s hands on your printer paper and cut them out.

Glue or tape the hands onto the back of the roll.

Draw a face on the front and you have your very own angel.

Let your child use his angel to re-enact the angel's message to Mary!

Fitting It All Together!

Grab your child’s favorite puzzle or pick up a new one from the store. (Younger children should start with less piece puzzles.)

Look at the cover together and talk about how that is the plan for the puzzle. The people that made the puzzle gave us the picture so we would know how all the pieces fit together.

Work the puzzle matching together the pieces that fit together. Explain why and how the pieces fit together so your child can understand that you are building the picture on the box.

Continue until the puzzle is complete. Talk about how all the pieces fit together to fit the plan.

Remind them that God has a plan for their lives just like this puzzle had a plan. God will make sure all the pieces of their lives fit together for HIS plan. God’s plan is the best plan.
