Heart Hunt

Gather scissors, different colors of construction paper, clear tape, and a small basket.

Cut out a bunch of hearts from the construction paper.

Put a piece of tape on the back of each heart and hang them around the house. (You may want to stick to 1-2 rooms to make it easier to find them.)

Give your child a small basket and send them off on a heart hunt! They can put the hearts in their basket as they find them.

Talk about how hearts remind us of love, and who loves us no matter what? Jesus!!!

Heart Snack

Gather a mini heart cookie cutter (Click HERE for an option), a platter, and several different types of food that your child would eat and is easy to cut with the cookie cutter. I am using cheese, salami, watermelon and an apple.

Using the cookie cutter, cut out heart shapes of each type of food.

Lay them all on the platter.

Enjoy! As you sit with your preschooler eating your heart filled snack, talk about all the times that Jesus loves us. He loves us when we’re happy and when we’re sad. He loves us when we’re at home and at school .

Jesus Loves Me

Gather a piece of construction paper, a marker,
foam heart stickers, clothespins, a paper plate, and different colors of paint.

Pour some paint onto the paper plate.

Write “Jesus loves [child’s name]” on the piece of construction paper.

Next, take a heart sticker and peel off the back. Place the sticky side of the heart on the bottom of a clothespin. You can make as many of these as you would like. (I recommend one per paint color.)

Dip the clothespin in paint and surround the page with heart stamps.

Talk about how Jesus loves each and every one of us!

Hang a Heart

Gather a piece of poster board (ideally pink, white, or red), clear contact paper (shelf paper), tissue paper (ideally pink, white, and/or red), ribbon or yarn (ideally pink, white, or red), scissors, a hole punch, and a pen.

Draw a heart shape onto the poster board and then draw another heart within it.

Cut the heart out by cutting along both of the lines.

Roll out the contact paper sticky side up and lay the heart on it.

Cut the tissue paper into squares and then place them on the contact paper inside the heart.

Then place a second sheet of contact paper over the top of the tissue paper, sticky side down, and cut out the heart.

Punch a hole at the top of your heart and attach a piece of string for hanging.

Ta-da! You have your very own heart sun catcher to hang in your window for catching sun rays. Every time we look at this heart, we can remember that Jesus loves us so big!
