Counting to Eleven

Gather a piece of paper, a marker, and a dot marker or dot stickers.

Write the number 11 in the center of the page.

Identify the number and then have your child put eleven dots around the number, counting aloud each time they add a dot.

Joseph forgave his eleven brothers and shared food with them. Joseph followed God’s plan, and you can too!

Exploring Grains

Gather a plate, three cups, and three different types of grain. (Ex: pasta noodles, oats, and rice.)

Pour each type of grain in a cup.

Touch, explore, and talk about the different types of grain.

Joseph had a dream from God and told Pharaoh about it. Thanks to his dream, Joseph was able to help feed people with LOTS of grain. Yay, God!

Which Is Joseph’s?

Gather several pieces of paper, scissors, a pen, and several toys to trace. Make sure there is one Little People® figure to represent Joseph.

Cut the pieces of paper in half. (Unless you have very large objects to trace.)

Trace each of the objects on a piece of paper.

Lay the papers on the floor along with the objects to match.

Have your child match the objects to the correct outlines.

(Hold up the Little People figure.) Joseph trusted God’s plan even when things got hard. He knew God had a plan for him. God has a plan for you too!

Colorful Sundaes

Gather Neapolitan ice-cream, a bowl, a spoon, and ice-cream toppings such as chocolate sauce, whipped cream, sprinkles, and cherries.

Put some ice-cream in a bowl and let your child create a colorful ice-cream sundae with the toppings!

The ice-cream sundae is colorful! Do you know what else was colorful? Joseph’s coat! His coat had so many colors!

People I Can Help

Gather empty toilet paper tubes, scissors, construction paper, yarn cut into pieces, googly eyes, tape, and crayons or markers.

Roll and tape construction paper around the tubes for clothes.

Have your child create family or friends with the supplies given.

Line them up and talk about things you could do to help them!

God made you to help others!

Prayer Book

Gather construction paper, scissors, crayons or markers, a hole punch, and string.

Trace your child’s hand on several pieces of paper, then cut out. (Make sure your child doesn’t spread their fingers so the cutouts look like a praying hand.)

Write “My Prayer Book” on one of the cutouts. This will be the book cover.

Talk with your child about things they could pray for and write them on the prayer book pages.

Lay the cutouts on top of one another and hole punch on the end (pinky finger), then tie together with string.

I am so glad we can talk to God anytime, anywhere, about anything. God made you, and He loves when you talk to Him!

Heart Snack

Gather crackers, sliced cheese, a small heart cookie cutter, and a plate.

Use the cookie cutter to create heart-shaped cheeses.

Place the cheese on the crackers to create a fun snack!

God loves you SO much. He loves you so much that He sent Jesus to be your friend forever!
